Task 1: Project Proposal
Week 1 - Week 3 / 10 January 2023 - 25 January 2023
My group and I have our first meeting for the Intercultural Design class following the first lecture. In the First meeting, we quickly go to work coming up with a list of prospective subjects to explore. As far as I can gather, the following are some of the ideas that were discussed.
- Plastic surgery culture
- Chopsticks culture
- Skateboarding culture
- Sneakers culture
- Hip Hop music culture
The majority of our votes were cast for the "sneakers culture," but our lecturer quickly shot that idea down, saying that, although not incorrect, we needed to narrow down on a particular visual culture or phenomena occurring inside the sneakers culture. We were then advised to change our subject and do further research.
Because the idea of "sneaker culture" has been refused, I provide another topic: Chinese tea culture. And my groupmate and I agreed to utilize this subject. And this time it worked in our favor. We covered as much as we could on features of Chinese tea culture in the project proposal. Such as the history of Chinese tea, Chinese tea etiquette, Chinese tea benefits, and some problematic comments about Chinese tea culture. At this time, everyone was simply conducting research and talking about Chinese tea culture.
I using this topic is because I realize that after the pandemic, many people started to take care of their health, and tea is one of the things which can help our health therefore I wish to use this opportunity to come out with something which can help more people.

In this proposal, we have come out with 3 different sketches and also the rationale. The first sketch is one pic of the poster which is showing when Chinese people drink tea at 4 different events. The second sketch is something like the beverage cover. While they drinking the beverage, they also can take a look at the cover which acknowledges some of the information about the tea. The third sketch is a guidebook which is to teach how to brew the tea.

Sketch 3:
In the final choice, we decided to do the guide on how to correctly prepare Chinese tea. The third sketch was planned as a brochure or booklet. Other than that, we also plan that maybe we can join the concept of the second sketch with the third sketch. In the end, we decided to convert it into an e-book.
Task 2: Data Collection
Week 4 - Week 6 / 1 February 2023 - 17 February 2023
To gather information from our audience of young people, we set up an Instagram account as a first step. We had a lot of people respond to our Google survey since we promoted it on our Instagram account. We were instructed to generate two questions each. Afterward, Ong Soo Chien, a member of my group, compiled all the questions we had contributed, and she made the Google Survey Form. We have received 60 responses to the Survey.
Task 3: Final Project
15 February 2023 - 28 February 2023 / Week 6 - Week 8Our main tip was to create a guidebook, as detailed in the proposal's phases. That being said, we labored over the development of an ebook that functions as "additional information" to our poster.
So, the electronic book comprises our primary item to represent, which is, as indicated, a handbook on how to brew Chinese tea, along with some supplementary material, such as the varieties of tea and the history of Chinese tea culture, and some data collecting.
