THE BRIEF

In this task, I would design an experimental garment draping using a spontaneous draping method, while also building ONE outfit from the initial idea development of Fashion Design Project 1 and transferring the idea into a draping technique. Produce the outfit in white cotton fabric. This task will allow me to experiment with garment draping to create various shapes and silhouettes based on the design sketch. It is also required to illustrate the technical drawing of the chosen design, mark and drape on the body form, transfer the draping result into a working pattern, and sew to create a complete garment.

Progress

1) After finalizing one of my initial ideal development, and transferring to a technical drawing, I consult with Mr.Riza on my task 2. He guides me on how I'm going to drape my design onto the dummy and explain to me where my fabric needs to be so that my design can be more refined and look realistic

This is my technical drawing for my design.

2)I follow my technical drawing guide line and refind the line on the dummy that I'm going to drape for my design.

3) After finishing refining the guideline line, I started to use calico fabric to drape. I only need to drape one side since both sides of the base are parallel.

This is the outcome after I drape finish the pattern.

4)After finishing draping my design, I transfer it onto paper to get my master pattern block.

For the sleeve, I used my own sleeve size 12 sleeve block because the dummy doesn't have the sleeve.

5)Next, I start to paste my master pattern block onto the white cotton fabric and cut them out.

The outcome when I cut them out and pin them on the dummy.

After that, I add the jacket interfacing on each of the fabrics.

Then I join all the panel all together.

Furthermore is sew the lining.

6) Lastly, is to add the texture. 

Cut out the shape of the Patel in different.      After that add-on jacket interfacing.

Then start to drape it on the dummy.

This is the outcome after finishing the draping.

After finish drape the petal, I use hand sewing technique to sew the petals.
